“Judge me by my size, do you?” -Yoda
It was a mistake for Luke Skywalker to think Yoda was weak, and it would be a mistake to just the Olight S10 by its size. This tiny flashlight – scarcely bigger than the CR123 battery that powers it – it has a max output of 400 lumens powered by a CREE XM-L2 LED. By contrast, your average handheld flashlight, using an obsolete incandescent bulb that you can pick up at a big box store rarely offers more than 40 lumens – and it’s five times as big. At just 2.75” and 1.48 oz., the Olight S10 is the perfect size flashlight for the man or woman that always wants to be prepared. It’s small enough to fit in a jacket pocket, front pants pocket or handbag. The S10 is so light and compact, you’ll likely forget you are even carrying it, until you need it.
Operating the S10 is remarkably easy. Turn the light on and off via the side switch. The Olight S10-L2’s memory function remembers the last setting used, so you can quickly return to your preferred setting just by turning your flashlight on. The S10 offers four brightness levels ranging from 400 lumens to .5 lumens and a strobe function. To cycle through these settings, just depress the side switch in quick succession until you find your preferred setting. At its lowest brightness setting of 0.5 lumens, the S10 has a max battery life of 360 hours. Even at its peak intensity of 400 lumens, it still has a max battery life of 1.25 hours.
Moonligt mode, 400 lumens maximum output and innovative tailcap magnet make this an ideal everyday carry light
In addition to its compact size and easy-to-use interface, the Olight S10 Baton offers several other features that set it apart from its competition. Perhaps the “coolest” and most useful feature is the flat, magnetic tail cap. This magnet allows you to affix the S10 to any ferrous surface, like the hood of a car or engine block, allowing you to work hands free. Combined with its small size, this means you can have direct light in even the tightest spaces.
Finally, as a top-of-the-line flashlight, the Olight S10 Baton uses only the best materials and new technology in its construction. Due its use of aero-grade aluminum and innovative interior construction techniques, the S10 Baton can withstand a fall from a height of two meters and immersion in water up to 30 minutes at a two meter depth.

Our Take on the S10-L2 Baton
The Olight S10 Baton is a remarkably easy to use, compact and powerful flashlight. These features alone make it the ideal flashlight for everyone. What’s in the Box? – Accessories

The Lanyard ensures that you’ll never lose track of this tiny flashlight once you strap it around your wrist or belt.

The Spare O-Rings will allow you to perform routine maintenance that will keep your flashlight performing at a peak level for years to come. Please don’t forget: Routine maintenance is very important.
How does this year’s model differ from previous Olight S10s?
Olight has made several minor, yet noticeable, changes to the OLight S10 to improve its overall performance.
- Addition of a raised, checked pattern to improve grip.
- Addition of a spring to aid in securing the battery in rough situations.
- Replaced soft, silicone tail cap with a harder plastic tail cap.
- Improved anti-glare coating on lens.
- Added the XM-L2 Cool White emitter.
- Changed user interface to mimic that found in the popular S15
Can I Remove the Magnet from my Olight S10?
Yes, you can. Some people that carry the S10 in their pockets don’t like the magnet as they find that their keys and other metal pieces stick to the flashlight. This can be a pain. So, Olight decided to alter the design of the S10 so the magnet was removable and replaceable – they even include a replacement magnet in the box.
Removing the magnet is simple. Grab a pair of tweezers and a flat head screwdriver. Now, remove the tail cap to expose the spring. Using the tweezers, squeeze the wide part of the “V” together and pry up with the screwdriver. Once you remove the spring bracket, the battery should fall right out. Just perform these steps in reverse to put the spring back in place.
How often and How Should I Perform Routine Maintenance on my OLight S10 Baton?
Performing proper and regular maintenance will keep your flashlight performing at its peak for years to come, but you have to do it and do it correctly. In order to perform routine maintenance of your OLight S10 Baton you will need: cotton swabs, rubbing alcohol, lithium grease and a light machine oil.
The first steps is to break your flashlight down to its component parts. Now, check the O-rings. Are they still supple? Or have they dried out and cracked? If they show signs of damage, replace them. Clean the threads and O-rings with alcohol used a cotton swab. Now, you can lightly grease the threads and O-rings with silicon based grease. Before you reassemble your flashlight, make sure to clean any electrical contacts with alcohol and swabs and apply a few drops of machine oil to the tail cap mechanism. You’re done!
You should perform this routine maintenance on your OLight S10 Baton at least once every six months. Protect your investment!
